Thanks Alex & Bonnie. .

I normally work on rolls with my GP too. Much easier on the body that's for sure!

Thanks for not sharing the details of NYC water. . .

very happy birthday!

And awww. Thanks. Actually what I forgot to mention in that post was that when I got back to Pier 63 I put down the Euroblade & pulled out the GP & just did a few nice gentle sweep rolls - always good to have that to fall back on. Then back to euro, sticking with sweeps in deference to ouchy shoulder - it worked once I got myself calmed down & a little more centered.

Of course now I'm feeling much better about life in general & would really like to get out & give it a go - except that now it's been raining for the last two days & one of the very big minuses of paddling in NYC is that this city has the most disgusting decades-before-Clean-Water-Act solution to too much water in the sewage system (I will leave it at that & not go into gory details). So no rolling 'til river has time to clean itself up. Sigh.

But I'm feeling much less freaked out by work right now & I really do think the verging-on-panic state work had me in was actually the thing that nudged me far enough out of the zone, or whatever you want to call it, that I blew that roll.

er...knock wood.
