I read the news today oh, boy – j. lennon
So, I just read in the paper today that there was a “Kayak Expert” speaking at Mirror Lake State Park this Saturday evening at 9pm. I may have to go. . . or I should say “I” may have to go, since I’m doing the presentation. And since it’s now just 4 days away I really have to get cracking. I sure hope that Kayak Expert shows up. I could really use the help!Cheers!

On a side note, I finally started nailing my sea kayak hand roll. I had about an 80% success ration in the Skerray yesterday and even managed to do several with one hand. It’s still not perfect and I can’t do it consistantly from a stalled position, but it’s progress! It’s funny how I can hand roll a river runner, a playboat, and a barge of a sea kayak but I can’t hand roll my Valkyrie which is MADE for rolling. sigh.
I was teaching some pool classes mostly for kids (aka supervised play) with a friend once & the Y where we were doing it had a sign up in the lobby that said something like “master kayakers”…
Boy, was I glad that stayed inside the lobby of the Yonkers YMCA. If they’d put it in the paper I never would’ve lived it down.
