Puttin on the Ritz

Super Duper – Berlin

Wenley has a nice big picture of classic green wellies. For us American types that would be “rubber boots”. But, round here we say “wellies”. It’s much more fun! You use it in sentances like “I can’t find my wellies dear” or when you track into the house and straight to bed after a hard days slog. Laying there with your eyes closed you mumble to your spouse. .”I can’t get my wellies off”. From there you initiate the old “boot-in-butt” removal system. Coincidentally, last night as we sat around the house playing Buckaroo and watching Dr. Who, I couldn’t help but notice the good doctor’s footwear as he ran to avoid the “wet feet” and the giant space octopus. What did he have on his feet but a very fashionable pair of green wellies! btw., You never know who’s calling. . . it was nice to hear your voice Wenley!

Another one of my “quickly becoming a favorite” blogs called “The Dash Point Pirate” put together the most information I’ve seen in one place about Dubside. Dubside is another one of the elusive stars of traditional kayaking. Thing is, it wasn’t until recently that his photos started to appear around the web regularly. Thankfully many sea kayaking events are becoming more inclusive of the g-style gang and we can look forward to a big “jump” in skill and talent as the two finally begin to mingle. There is nothing in the sport that irritates me more than the “G vs. Sea” argument. Folks who want to get all egoed out on either side should have their kayaks taken away until they learn to play nice. Dubside fit’s into today’s post for his perfect choice in headgear which I’ve finally concluded I could live with. So bandanas it is. . .

Remember of our long over cooked post about BCU patches? I keep seeing this one and forgetting about it. No, Axel is not wearing it yet either. But, it is “out of the drawer“.

My last little bit of fashion fun today is a picture of Freya Hoffmeister on the Cackle Blog. Someone still has to tell me how to get black Kokatat gear. Be sure to notice the name on Freya’s kayak. . ah, Qajaq? “SEXY HEXY” Hmmm, I got the first bit but the HEXY has got me wondering. :) ……………. Freya??

Lastly, Lasty (see “also, also wit“. . ) we should end with Dick Silberman’s auto-kayak-erotica. . . (I probobly just made it easier to run his plates!!)

Happy Saturday. Dress well! – d

* emails pointing out that Elvis is not gary cooper are welcome, however. . .this may be a test of your ability to just let things go. . .

    Hello Derrick,

I am glad to keep the lead on all things Freya. Hexen is the German plural for witches. So, Hexy Sexy stands for … Yep.
    This woman is fun.

No fair, I was going to link to that as a pathetic attempt to fulfill Wenley’s request for Dubsibe dish.

Couldn’t agree with you more on the utter silliness of the g-v-sea argument btw.

  • derrick says:

Ok, I sort of had a handle on the Witch thing. I was just holding out for, “good witch, bad witch. . .?” and don’t even start Wenley!!!!!!!!!!

I just saw another one of those g-v-sea arguments running on PW. I got a lot of use out of my delete button. .
