59 feet from the bridge song
Slow down, you move too fastYou gotta make the morning last
Just kickin’ down the cobblestones
Lookin’ for fun and
Feelin’ groovy – p.simon
Yeah, there’s that one little spot in the river where 80% is blocked by old concrete, trees and rocks. You have to get over to the left and run the little funnel. The trick is to follow the flow. After a quick two foot drop you cut left to the bank as the current flows around a big sand bar that sits maybe 3 inches under the surface. As the current comes around the bar it quickly jogs back over to the right bank and then under a bridge. Now if you follow the current you’re just fine. If on the other hand you decide you take a shorter, straighter route, you end up trying to drag your as~ across 15 feet of gravel and sand.
Well, it was a nice day. I found a rock. I didn’t mind the wait.

what’s wrong with that picture? let’s see… helmet, playboat, badass sunglasses… looking very prepared for whitewater… and a Lendel sea kayak paddle?!
WHAT!!!??? I have to buy another paddle too? Now wait one damn minute, I thought this was supposed to be an inexpensive sport. . .
Actually for what little I do rivers, I’m not sure I’ll be swinging for a ww paddle anytime soon.
This is an inexpensive sport? Damn, I wish someone told me that 9 boats ago. Yes, that number is now 9 since I bought another playboat yesterday.
I did sell my river runner at the same time so it didn’t cost me anything. Of course that means I have 3 playboats in my fleet now which is 1 too many. Hopefully I’ll sell my Tekno fairly soon.
As for whitewater, I have a suspicion that you will soon get hooked on whitewater. With how much you love surf and with surf not being available to us around here, whitewater is easily the next best thing. It’s like surfing but you can ride for minutes on the same wave! Plus once you start learning playboating, it’s a whole new spectrum of skills to practice.
Sheesh. I thought I had it bad.
