Well, it’s Saturday and going to be around 75f here in Wisconsin, Canada’s most southern province. Just so I don’t suck I’m going to get out to our local heated lake to roll today. I was in my explorer once this week, the Acuta once and then I ran the river yesterday as well, so now that the weekend is here it’s time to play. . . so I’m going rolling!

In case you missed it, there was a great write-up about a BCU 4* training class taught by Shawna Franklin & Leon Somme on the Dash Point Pirate blog. So check that out! Hmmmmm, I wonder if ever, in the deep darkness of night, Leon ever wonders, if even just for a moment. . why Shawna always comes first!??? “Leon & Shawna”? Nope, that won’t work, poor guy!!!

ciao!

Glad you liked my story, Derrick.

Our victim ended up getting 2 coronary artery stents placed in Seattle and had narrowing in another artery so his disease was pretty serious. I’m sure he’ll be OK to paddle another day though.

Read that the other day – cripes. That’s so scary. I hope to God I’m never in a training situation where suddenly the kind of situation you are being trained to deal with is actually happening right then & there….

4* training can be a bit tough without the added “excitment” that’s for sure. At least it played out in a way that you were on land and had a little time to deal with the situation. That’s pretty scary though.
