They sat around the fire telling stories. Occasional laughter fluttered around the tree trunks like hunting bats then rose with wood smoke seeking the stars.

Have you ever noticed that after the story is told you often know more about the story teller then about the story they were telling? Sometimes I don’t even listen to the words. I just sit beside them and watch their teeth.

A tale was told of Freya Hoffmeister’s custom built retractable make-up case. It seems Freya has all the cool toys! Well, “me being a bear with a very little brain” decided to ask. Freya was kind enough to send me a picture of her “make up” case. It turns out that it’s actually a pretty handy day hatch standard on a Lettman “Polar”. She doesn’t paddle it anymore. But retractable make-up case does make a great story!
