Yesterday, and days before, sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; been that way for all my time

We had severe thunderstorm watches & warnings all day Saturday.
Rolling practice?
A little wind, a little rain. .
well, you can’t get any wetter. . .
Very cool photo, Derrick! Makes one glad not to be a water spider or any other small surface skimming creature on a rainy day. Things can get pretty wild at the level it appears…
Thanks,
Yeah, I was side-sculling, then working into a balance brace. (I’m starting to get a bit of one in the acuta now) I was arching back and watching all the drops explode on the surface for awhile, then realized Mary had the camera. So I’m holllerin’ through the douwnpoor. “Mary get the camera. . now get down on the surface of the water. . .” She took a bunch. I just sort of had to pick one. Each shot has a completely different look.
Interesting. I have a balance brace easily in most SOF boats I’ve tried including Cheri’s wooden versions, yet in my own boat (QCC600), I’m not even close even with Cheri helping, advising, begging etc. I can’t figure out what the reason is except that the boat won’t stay on its side and insists on falling over on me and pushing me under. I quess that’s why they invented ‘practice’… LOL
Michael, I wouldn’t get too down about it. I’ve balanced braced a QCC600 and it is definitely a little tricky. It has a higher rear deck and a deeper cockpit which makes tilting the boat upright a bit more painful unless you have good flexibility. I’m sure you’ll eventually get it but that boat and Cheri’s boats are in different leagues when it comes to rolling and balance bracing.
