letters from earth

It’s late, but it’s time to set me free
It’s late, yes I know but there’s no way it has to be
Too late, so let the fire take our bodies this night
So late, so let the waters take our guilt in the tide
It’s late, it’s late, it’s late, it’s late
It’s late, it’s late, it’s all too late – queen

So while loading up my gear to get out on the water, this nicely dressed young lad in a grey suit appears in my driveway with a fist full of magazines saying he wanted to save me. So I tossed him a tow rope and hydroskins and said, “Well, why don’t you come along? Maybe you’ll get your chance!”

The picture today is of my new dragon. I call him “Tacky” and he lives on the bow of my Warhorse. He is the 4th dragon on my Explorer. The other three are more content to just stand there. I think Tacky will be happy living on my bow. Odds were that if I’d not bought him he would have ended up in the rear window of a rusty 1979 TransAm. Speaking of upgrades, I wonder where I can get a leopard skin kayak seat cover!! Now THAT’s tacky!

Happy Monday!

Ask Justine – she’s got the first of ‘the big cat’ range (PC-version of that title!!!) of Explorer! And before my daughter asks, where can I get that dragon??

  • derrick says:

Yeah, I was hesitant to use the word “tacky” and “Leopard” in the same sentance. She might have to kill me now. :)

I got the dragon in a “hotrod” shop here. I’d bet you could find them online though.

Thanks for being PC. . . would’nt want to offend the little ones. :)

How about some fuzzy dice to hang from your bow? Better yet, take a couple of those tennis balls and string them together and hang them from your bow, or stern. You can really soup that warhorse up! I saw some blue ones hanging from a trailer hitch the other day on someone’s pick-’m-up truck–probably can get those at the nearby truck stop on I-94–or the Qwik-trip in town.

Hesitant? I bet you did it on purpose just to try to wind me up! Well, I am soon getting the 2nd ‘big cat’ kayak in the range – a tiger skin Romany for playing in the tidal races! As soon as the NDK factory boys come back from their holidays, I’ll be putting my order in….

I’m not sure how useful a leopard skin seat cover would be, but perhaps I should have a word with Snapdragon to see if they can make a leopard skin cockpit cover!!?

    I buy decals from:

    http://www.decalzone.com/cutout/dragon.shtml

    And:

    http://www.oldglory.com/lp/product/~tcategory_id=OG_THEME_1300/~category_id=BFD_448/~product_id=017919RMDE

Anything to spice up a yellow over white kayak, the most redundant of all color schemes. I fell asleep just looking at it, before the decals. But now, things have changed. It has more decorations than a sailors chest.

    Cheers,

    Rob G
