. . . so Alex said he liked the more colorful graphic on the site before. Well, here’s a bit of color. Actually it’s a funny thing. Since I am always staring at websites in my real job, I find I really like sites to be subdued. That way I can browse around for awhile without taking a Tylenol. 
Now we could pretend that these ladies are celebrating the new KayakQuixotica.com. Of course we’d be living in a fantasy world. . . Actually these are some of the performers at Tommy Bartlett’s “Ski, Sky & Stage Show in Wisconsin Dells” I took this photo along with about 700 more that day while working on some advertising shots. Now can you guess which of these ladies had a long conversation with the photographer before the show?? But as Silbs says, I digress. And that’s probably a good thing to do today. I hope you enjoy the new name and the slightly new look.

lol, thanks for that nostalgic blast into the past with that Tommy Bartlett pic. I remember seeing that show a whole lot when I was younger.
Actually as far as color goes, I’m a minimalist as well in terms of web preferences but the grey image just struck me as a bit forboding. Maybe it’s just because it reminds me a bit too much of the color I’m seeing when I look out the window right now.
Oh and as for my blog, with the move, the new job, and other stuff I haven’t had a chance to update it. I’ll be sure to put up another post soon and try to do so regularly. I may be a wee bit too opinionated for my own good though.
Congradulations on the new site including the name, the opening picture in the fog and the tag line. It is creative, inviting and touches a bit of the mystical. It is 100% Derrick
Derrick: nice title. I don;t know what it means, but you have even added teh definition. I think you will expand your web presence to a rather wonderful site. I particularly enjoy your photos and blogs. Very fun and informative. More power to you.

I personally like the grey graphic at the top. It doesn’t compete with the photos you post at the top of each blog … which I love. Your blog is like daily eye candy for kayakers.
