I've been buying boxed wine in 1 litre containers,Banrock Station Cab Sav from Australia is good. When empty they crush flat and/or can be burned.
Bottles are just as heavy and bulky empty as they are when full.
Anyway when I was in Puerto Rico in the 70's there seemed to be alcohol available everywhere so I don't think you'll run dry.

Cheers

Bert

Just for the record, Derrick, Manitoulin Island was a 2 bags of wine trip. That's a glass each for dinner for two people. That might help with your planning. We removed the carton and took only the bag for better storage. Bottoms up! (works for drinking and rolling!) LOL
