Big Love
And that you always will
Oh you begged me to keep you
In that house on the hill
Looking out for love
Big, big love

Oh and speaking of Canoecopia, did you get your Gazette yet? I find there’s a secret game. In a twist on the popular where’s Waldo game we all know and love, can you figure out who’s face appears most often? By my count the most any one appears in the Canoecopia Gazette is 3 times. Get out your pens and start circling! Sorry no prizes, but I’ve found that powers of observation are often rewarded. (well, I enjoyed it anyway)
Yikes yesterday was busy. My lord and master in Wales finished up her masters of This Is The Sea 3 and now has her full attention on the cover. Not like it hasn’t been pretty much done for some time, but you always save the hard decisions for the last. Ah, but the last has to come.
Luckily those hard decisions in the end, became quite simple. I don’t think I’m giving anything away to say you’ll love the picture of Cheri Perry that’s going on the back cover. We’re also working on the preview which will go on CackleTV.com in just a few days. My fingers are tingling just thinking about it. I’ve been lucky to see some clips and I think you’re going to really dig it. (sorry I watched Austin Powers and I’m suddenly feeling groovy)
Here’s something cool. Rockpool has landed in Israel! Now I just have to get Hadas to show me a headstand in an Alaw Bach quick before she heads off to Florida. She can do that right?
Meanwhile back here in the frozen north I’ve put a pillow under my feet to stop the cold seeping up from the floor and turning my toes blue. It’s hard to imagine that this room that is now my office was once the place they parked the old tractor to keep it out of the rain and snow.
Lastly for today check out the video page. We have a nice clip of Bonita Martin doing a little exercise where she rolls to a static and back, called the “Kayak Krunch”. A great exercise if you can do a a static, which I can’t. So I’m not allowed to play with the big boys yet.

Derrick..I’m surprized you can’t do a balance brace yet in light of your other greenlandy skills.
On one of my boats a static is difficult when the boat is empty but effortless when it’s loaded down with camping gear, even tolerant of some poor technique.
Try lowering the waterline and see what happens.
“Down with freeboard”
We all have our Achilles heal!! I can do it with a bit of water in my boat which is like you mention, loading it down. I can do it in my white water boat. In my acuta if I tuck up close to the hull I’m ok, but when I start bringing my body out away from the hull that’s where I lose it.
Well, Freya said she’ll get me doing it. . so if she can’t no one can. LOL!!
If you lose it when you bring your body away from the hull it sounds like you’re relaxing your knees and letting the boat roll over on you. That said static braces are rather boat dependent as you’ve observed. It’ll come in time.
If you put “I Paddle” on your plate, you wont get more dates YOU’LL HAVE MORE ACCIDENTS!
