So yesterday I got my camera condom. It seems only right that I got the Optio “Jimmy Hat”, before the camera which may come today. The point of the Optio case from the manufacturers stand point is that it will protect the shiny camera. However, the bigger bonus is that it will help prevent accidentally unlocking the battery case. Cost is around $20. Cost of replacing the camera. . around $250.00.
Well this takes me back. . . I wonder if I can figure out how to put it on!? You know they say if you have problems putting on your Optio protection and are worried that you may miss that perfect moment. . . you should ask for assistance. . .

I wonder if that condom, and I have one for my iPod which I no onger use, will need to be removed after each wet outing. Otherwise it’ll actually work against you and kepp the grody water aginst the camera, perhaps corroding or discoling the housing and maybe giving the microbes and H2O molecules a little head start into getting into that battery compartment and making your Energizers all “fuzzy”. Just a thought.
To download your photos you need to remove, or at least pull back the silicone sheath. And, I do this as soon as I’m home and can also rinse everything off under a bit of low pressure tap water.
I then dry everything really well, and let it sit on paper toweling to absorb any additional moisture before opening the door to plug the cable in.
right. Take the thing off after each use!

As a side note the new WP20 is slightly bigger and heavier than the old one and the case they say fits all models doesn’t really. Because it’s stretchy you can make it fit, but it’s not all that good.
