On Trak In Chicago
I had my Trak kayak out on the beach for a couple days. Interestingly there was another green Trak demo there as well. Two Trak Kayaks in one spot! A sign of growth. Now I took mine out for a “Fun with Kayaks” class which is probably the most stressful on your boat. LOL! Lots of crawling around, jumping, etc. Yes, the Trak did just fine. The only lesson I have for you is. . . be sure to fill your float bags! If you don’t. . . DO NOT, wet exit! LOL! All in all there there was quite a bit of interest in the Trak boats. Right when I was leaving, the green one was going out for a rescue class. . I wonder how that went?
More to follow. . . .

I did the rescue class with John at the Windy City Sumposium, and Derrick was right, you don’t want to flood a Trak kayak. The boat holds a ton of water, and it’s pretty difficult to empty. We practiced doing a T-rescue, which turned into an X-rescue, with the swimmer helping me empty the boat. It was a failry long and difficult process, but we managed. I’m not sure if the float bags were filled. Anyway, it was a good learning experience to rescue a boat that isin’t your typical, bulk-headed sea kayak.
