what’s on your deck?
It was funny. I standing with a group of paddlers in Chicago and heard out of the corner of my ear Bonnie Perry say, “Derrick and I are “bi”.” Yep! That was the first time I’d heard someone else say that. I almost blew Aquafina out my nose!
Well, I turn 42 today. So I’m off to enjoy the day. 42 is not a bad number. Remember when “Deep Thought” was asked what the meaning of Life, The Universe, and everything was. . The computer pondered the question for a thousand generations, then when he had finally computed the answer, in his deep ominous computer voice he said. . . . . . 42.

Hey Derrick … Happy B’Day!
happy birthday derrick!
Happy Birthday Derrick….any day is a good day to play….but especially on your Birthday
Best Wishes
Roy
Happy birthday young man. Just remember…they had asked the computer the wrong question
Good health and many happy days on the water. some, hopefully, with Jb and myself.
My father Richard turned 72 on, you guessed it, June 29! He is exactly 30 years older than you, dear Derick, and although he wouldn’t know the Buttholer Surfers from Norma Zimmer on Larry Welk, he does have one thing in common with you: he still paddles. Yes, he got into paddling later in life, perhaps 60 y.o. or so. Although we noodled around when I was a kid in a 90 lb Lincoln faux birch bark ‘glass canoe at the lakehouse, we never really paddled…you know, with the intention to go somewhere…until the last decade or so. He now paddles frequently in his Old Towne Adventure XL 139. Very nice. Keep the faith, and 42 spanks from Gyphon for you today. PLay a little Today’s your birthday/ it’s my birthday, too, yeah.”– the Beatles
Congratulations on your Birthday Derrick!
Have a nice day!
greetings,
Hans
My, my, out of the Burgeo fog on Newfoundland’s south coast, I discover you’re the answer to everything: 42! Good for you! It beats 24, but is nothing like 62! Enjoy it!
LOL! Yeah Michael I tried that one too, but it didn’t go over well. hahaha!!!!!!!!
