One Response to When Adventure Tourism Kills

  • Well its very appropriate from a NFLD perspective that you have a post on risk because we are having heated discussion right now about Icebergs and what should the club be doing to discourage paddling near these now that we are in Iceberg season. I think we should do nothing other than educate as we try to do with most elements including fog, currents, first decents, solo crossings, circumnavigations, eddies, holes …well ya know what I mean. How it all started is that we have a photo of the month contest on our Kayaking Club web site. Someone posted a picture of a person kayaking near an iceberg. A club member wanted all such pictures banned. So ensued a discussion as you can well imagine. Just wondering what your visitors would think on this topic of risk considering photography is used in tremendous ways to promote kayaking and sports in general.
