Canoecopia 08 Friday

There’s a lot of social time friday afternoon as people start lining up at 3pm for the 4pm opening.
I just went and hung out at the Door County Symposium Booth

Up closer to the doors it gets harder to move around. . . this is about 20 minutes before the doors open.

Valley brought a couple black boats along this year.
They really stand out in a sport that is going color and sparkle crazy this year.

Hurricane Kayaks brought to you by skittles!  In the photos they are a bit dark. In real life, Yikes!
lime green, hot pink, hunting gear orange!

Already swamped an hour into the show, you had to remind this guy to smile!!!

Biggest waste of money? Close to $40 for this “hydration holder”. . .

Take Wing. Epic or Current Designs?  The Choice is Yours!

“Make me a black one and I’ll take it”  Solquist makes some nice PFDs for fishing
that would be pefect for expeditons.  But Olive Green?  Blah!!

Great opportunity to check out Valley’s surf boats!

Friday evening was much busier than I expected this year. Of course it’s hard to tell if it was a bigger opening or not.  I”m sure we’ll hear more about  that later.  I took off  a bit early. I’m still fighting this cold and need to be energized for the rest of the weekend.  Starting in about 2 hours when I need to be at the Symposium booth.  I’ll try to get another post in about mid-day before my presentation at 3pm.  There is no Wifi in the building so I have to post via blackberry or run to a near by hotel lobby. :)

Thanks for the photos, Derrick. Helps us non-Pnetter types to see what is going on. The more pics, the better (I know you traditionally run a gallery of pictures when you come home and have time to load).
