remember

At least a kayaker does not have to worry  quite as much about blowing a roll. . .

So after I blew my second stick roll I conjured up Mr. Spock to do a mind meld with me and saying, “REMEMBER”. . . . Then after a moment’s hesitation it came back. Bloody hell! Your old “bomb proof” roll seems to always be there. If you spend enough time rolling,  just having a paddle in your hand seems like rolling off a dock.  However take the paddle away and things get a bit more iffy.  Those fussy stick rolls and hand rolls require a bit of finesse that can slip if you don’t stay with it regularly. Luckily once we have learned the rolls it’s fairly easy to figure out what little thing we lost when we stopped practicing for awhile, and get it right back. Usually it’s just because you start lifting your head again. . .
