There are a lot of ways to see the world. One way is to lie on your belly facing the incoming surf and watching the water roll right up to your nose and then recede again. From this angle every pebble is an outcrop, every wave is surf wave, every set has its own tsunami. . . oh, and eventually, often sooner than later, you WILL get wet. Give it a try.
