    Truly an odd choice, but understandable as his point is not so much kayaking as media attention for a cause. I can see two possible explanations for the choice: 1) he wants to get the job done more quickly, or more likely 2) racing kayaks are sexier on camera… Wonder which is worse…

    While his site mentions that he will travel “across some of the most dangerous seas in the world” (which by the way seem to multiply like crazy on the planet these days – glad I’m not a sailor anymore), I am sure he does not plan to hang on to his boat in bad weather – the support ship will be comfier. Bottom line: if it helps put pressure on politicians to get moving, why not…

    Just cruised in from viewing Pugh’s site in disgust. It’s a stunt and he’s obviously a performing seal. I mean where’s the spray skirt? Do you think he can balance a ball on his nose just as well? Another gonzo media whore.
