Windpaddle Review for Playak

I kept hearing the voice of Bill Murray in “What about Bob” saying, “Dr Marvin ! I’m sailing !. . I sail!”.  Thanks to the folks at Windpaddle & Playak.com I got a chance to review the Windpaddle Adventure Sail.  You can read the review at Playak.com Click Here.

Blatant advertising –dont know why you dont say this is an add –lowers what is a good blog and not only that it looks like a very bad example of a sail

    Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for your comment. You know, I can’t share your thought about “advertisement” other than all reviews are a blatant advertisement. That’s the point or companies would never send out products for review. Now that said, I’ve discussed many times here before that I think reviews are often softened in print because those same folks often look to the companies their reviewing for adverting revenue. Of course I don’t make any money at all for it. (unless someone wants to donate!!!) Lord knows if something is junk I’d say so. I often have in fact. But in this case we’re talking about a simple, easy to use sail. As I said in the review it’s simple and fun. If that’s blatant advertising. . . so be it. Hit me up again if we’re talking about PFDs!!

    Hi Derrick,

I agree that each review is a kind of advertisement.

However, writing reviews for years myself , I don´t intend to write for the companies. I just write for the paddlers wanting to buy a kayak and wanting to know more about diferences. So the most important thing about a review is, in my opinion, helping kayak-buying-paddlers to select the best kayak for them.

By the way, why don´t you publish the sailreview on your blog? Is that part of the deal with Playak?
And did Playak modify your report before publishing?

    Regards
    René

I can’t see what all the negative feedback is all about. It was a very informative and frank review. Well done.
