8am slipping into fog

And still I stand this very day
With a burning wish to fly away
Im still looking, looking for the summer

It was 30f when I hit the water.  The fog rose and thickend until a swirling wall occluded the sun.  I slipped out into the water as the loons called from somewhere beyond the wall.

Paddling Coaches all need to know CPR and Basic First Aid at the very minimum.  Now there’s news that that the song “Stayin Alive” by the Bee Gees thumps out the perfect rhythm.  According to the CNN article you actually have two choices when performing CPR. . . “Stayin Alive” or “Another One Bites The Dust”. . . your call!

Really?

Speaking of Woodsy Owl. . .  I got my new SD card today.  How big of a box does Amazon have to put it in anyway?

I received my copy of This Is The Sea 4 today!  Cool.  As the art guy I sweat bullets until I finally see the finished product and confirm that it looks the way I’d envisioned.  Of course that’s a minor thing really.  It’s Justine who’s put a year’s worth of work into the important stuff.   Time to sit down and watch her work.

Well, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand.
Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine?
Must have been a dream I don’t believe where I’ve been. Come on, let’s do it again.
Do you…you, feel like I do?

You have to wonder sometimes. Especially those times when you find yourself upside down in your boat realizing you’ve totally forgotten how to roll. Well, no. I didn’t forget how to roll. I just forgot how to roll on my offside. It’s not like I don’t know my offside rolls. I certainly practice both sides. Just for some silly reason I found myself upside down and a complete blank! Bugger!

THE PUNCHTUATIONIST

There is a great article on the Atlantic’s website called “Why I Blog” by Andrew Sullivan complete with seafaring metaphors. Having been doing this gig quite some time I can really relate to many of the points he makes. Being legenary as a sloppy speller and punctuationist. . (punctuationer??) I so get this:

“Blogging is therefore to writing what extreme sports are to athletics: more free-form, more accident-prone, less formal, more alive. It is, in many ways, writing out loud.” – Andrew Sullivan

Oh and by the by the way. Yes I am planning to make an old western movie about an outlaw English professor called, “THE PUNCHTUATIONIST”. John Ford will be proud. . .

Alrighty then! Here’s what I’m wondering. . . What do I need to take with me? Clothing, toothpaste, a teddy bear? Paddling gear I suppose. Continue reading
