Yalla, Yalla
Yalla? Hurry up, get moving, get going. . . Yalla is also sometimes used for an expression of an upbeat or good mood. In Israel I head both. “Yalla, Yalla!” as Hurry up, or “Yalla Bye” on the phone. Of course being a fan of Natasha Atlas I’d heard, “Yalla, Yalla” shaking my car doors for years. . . Yeah, and sometimes it did get some odd looks from passers by. . .

Thanks for that. I’ve seen “Yala” spelled “Yalla, and Yallah, and Yalah” at least it’s much simpler to just say it!!
