Happy New Year

Here’s hoping that war will cease and that famine and poverty
will go away.
Here’s to no one being too rich at the expense of someone
being too poor.
Here’s to hoping everyone will have clean water to drink.
Here’s hoping that everyone will have a home.

Here’s hoping that at least once this year,
every child in the world has candy.

Here’s to needed medications supplied for free
whenever and wherever necessary.
Here’s to the end of families holding brat feeds to raise money for cancer treatment of a loved one.
Here’s to National Heath Care for those who need it, and great insurance for those want it.
Here’s to the elderly being treated with honor.

Here’s hoping that elected officials will look up the words
“grace” and “leadership”.
Here’s hoping that from this day forward it will not be acceptable to kill one child, to get at an enemy.
Here’s hoping people find a way to discuss sensitive issues without acting like barbarians.
Here’s to recognizing the good works of people
we don’t always agree with.

Here’s to compromise & joyfully taking a loss to preserve peace.
Here’s to turning the other cheek.

Here’s hoping faith will not be used as a cover for hatred
or justification for violence.
Here’s to the concept of justice and the end of revenge.

Here’s to the press remembering their job.
Here’s to the media not treating us like idiots, even when we act like it.
Here’s to hoping products do what they say and that their makers discover their sense of personal pride.
Here’s to the discovery of actual, factual,  “Customer Support”.

Here’s to the respect of animals.

Here’s to people being kinder every day.
Here’s to the end of children fearing strangers.
Here’s to the end of littering.
Here’s to clean jokes still being funny.
Here’s to dirty jokes being funny as well.

Here’s to hoping Britney Spears actually gets her sh*t together.
(even though I can’t stand her music)
Here’s hoping nursing moms can post their pictures on FACEBOOK. (although I can’t see why they would)
Here’s hoping we realize that violence in the media is worse
than sex in the media.
Here’s hoping that no one will every post a mean or rude comment
on a blog again.

Here’s hoping we see our distant friends again soon.
Here’s to being who we wanted to be “when we grew up”.
Here’s to saving the planet.
Here’s to holding hands.

Here’s hoping that all you wish for comes true.
Here’s hoping summer comes soon.
Here’s hoping I get over this bloody cold.
