So today I’m writing on a new computer.  Well, not exactly.  I am on a new computer, but it’s inside my old computer.  Make Sense?  Well to make it more clear, that is to say precise, my new computer inside my old computer is not a computer at all in a sense. While in a sense it is.  But the big point is that if it all blows up, becomes infected or maladjusted, I just delete it. Then my old computer which is a real computer will still be happy as a lark while my new computer which isn’t but is, will just be replaced.  Replaced by a new computer, which isn’t.

Now if you actually followed along with me there, what I’m on about is my new Virtual PC.  It’s a fairly simple slight of hand that allows you to install a whole independent computer inside a window, or a folder which ever way you wish to look at it.  Computer Geeks use these virtual systems all the time to test programs, run alternative operating systems and do all sorts of crazy things that you wouldn’t dare do with your real computer including building and testing viruses!  Which of course explains why I would have a Virtual PC now on my system.  In side my virtual world I can work all day in the online world and not worry about what’s out there.  At the end of the day I just rest my virtual PC back to it’s original state.  Clean and free.  If I wish I can just delete it all and just start over in a couple minutes. Sure it may seem paranoid, computing life in a bubble.  But if you’ve ever went through the horrors of having a little nasty take down your system you’ll know right away what a wonderful thing a virtual PC can be.

Oh, and not to forget sea kayaking for the day, the website you see in my virtual PC is none other than that of UP THE CREEK XPEDITIONS & OUTFITTERS in St. Mary’s Georgia.  If you get a chance be sure to visit Tom & Julie Monahan either online or on the water!

Virtual PC is a great way to fool around with out fouling things up too badly.

Also, I am a guide at Up the Creek, and I am happy to report that we have a high of 72 today. Nice paddling weather down here.

I have enjoyed reading your site for the past few months, great content. Check out mine http://www.sethdent.com.

Talking about snow – excellent XC skiing in your neck of the woods, Derrick.
