PostHeaderIcon Falkland Islands Hand Check

If you are wondering what’s happening to the folks paddling around the Falklands you may have to do a bit of digging. Tom and Fiona seem to be taking on the weather in good spirits. They are posting nicely detailed reports on their blog when they find online access. Apparently they won’t have to worry too much about food. Kelp is good for you after all! Which reminds me, I had an old story about Fiona to share but I’m told that if tell you I could wind up with an atomic wedgie. . . So we’ll move on. .

PostHeaderIcon but the iceberg looks familiar

I think that’s our friend Jon Bowermaster under that yellow sticker.  I’m not sure, but the iceberg looks familiar.  It just goes to show you that getting a “cover shot” ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.   I remember the first time one of my photographs was on the cover of a magazine.  I was all puffed up with ego and pride for about 3 days.  Then I saw a stack of leftovers sitting in the trash.  So much for being a big shot!  Anyway Jon don’t feel too bad.  I  would’nt have put a sticker on your face, but whaddya going to do!?

This ain’t no technological breakdown
Oh no, this is the road to hell
- chris rea

I love global warming naysayers. Especially the really, really crazy ones. Not the sane ones mind you, some folks honestly have good motivations and valid questions about climate change. These folks should keep up their work. After all dissent makes us a better people. Paddling near the Mirror Lake Dam – Wisconsin Dells

Today I find myself planted in front of a computer working on content for the Mirror Lake State Park website while listening to Queen blasting out of my surround sound speakers, “Can anybody find me somebody to love. . .” meanwhile CNN reports some 5% of the world’s internet servers are under attack. No Sh**!

PostHeaderIcon Webbly Wobblies

I’d be remiss in my duties if I didn’t tell share with you that the ACA (American Canoe Association) has just released their latest website.  They ask instructors to pay special attention to the “Learn to Paddle” and the “For Instructors” sections.  In a quick once-over I can see the ACA (and their developers) did much better job of organizing their content this time around.  Hey, they even have a blog!

Now if YOU have a website of your own I’d suggest you start reading up on the Iframe attack. . .

PostHeaderIcon Freya Begins. . .

Freya is on her way around Australia.  You can read more about it and check out Peter Treby’s photos at Frey’s QajaqUnderground Blog right here.  The short post itself was written by Sea Kayaker magazine’s Christopher Cunningham.  Hmmm, if he posts regularly maybe we will get a chance to critique HIS blogging prowess for a change!

PostHeaderIcon Of hope, politics & survival

Today is the presidential inauguration in America. Most everyone has high hopes for Barak Obama. Me too. However truth be told, even if he were capable of meeting up to all the hype, great leaders will eventually once again be replaced by idiots. I’m just happy I got my repaired Optio back. So in sticking with the theme of the day here are a few of thoughts of hope, politics & survival. . .
