Paddle, Pack, Puma
We love to laugh / Loud and long and clear
We love to laugh / So ev’rybody can hear
The more you laugh / The more you fill with glee
And the more the glee / The more we’re a merrier we!

Yesterday I taught down at Rutabaga in Madison. I had just a single student. I’m not sure if it’s the economy or simply the luck of my draw that I’ve taught very small classes at the shop this year. It’s ok of course. Having a day with 2 or 3 students or one in this case means you can really spend time working with them in a very personal and useful way. Yesterday we practically laughed our way through the class both having our own reasons for simply being happy to be alive and in the water on such a warm and magnificent day.

I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle of loading my Rockpool on the rack. I’d been doing that since I purchased the new Jeep simply because we were carrying two boats. The design of the newest Jeep Grand Cherokee model is bad for kayakers. As I’ve said, the rack is too short and what’s more of an issue is that the roof, A; extends too far so you need to cover it when bringing down a kayak solo and B; has a funky curve to it that will channel your kayak right off the truck sideways and drop it on the road if you’re not careful. The good news is that my 3 piece fits nicely in the back just like it did in old beast.

Ok, and I don’t know why this soda caused a laugh out loud moment in the grocery store but it did. It just get’s funnier the more you say it, and the more people look at you and wonder what the hell your on…It’s the first time I’d ever heard of Puma Kola.. A name that deserves to be spoken allowed and often! I didn’t think it tasted all that special but it’s worth having a bottle or two sitting around the house just to spark an occasional fit of laughter… What Sprecher does do by the way, is make one of the tastiest cream sodas in world. I’m sure you know that in heaven everyone drinks cream soda.. Well, that’s what they said in when I was a kid anyway..
