Pretend it’s Caledonia

dlk071709

Today in Wisconsin challenged a 100 year low temperature record sitting in the low 60s in our area.  I figured that meant the day paddle I’d been looking forward to for the last couple days would be a bit gray and gloomy.  Well, it was gray, not so gloomy, but very wet.  I’m told I should start getting used to it!  Here’s a few more pictures from the day.    Continue reading

Buy A VHF

ICOM-M43

Who offers well a thought out VHF pocket on their PFD?  Well, who offers any sort of VHF pocket?  It’s such an odd thing to overlook you’d be tempted to call in Molder and Scully to root out the conspiracy.

Run

Don’t be afraid to try again
Everyone goes south
Every now and then
-billy joel

I love kayaking but unless I’m really going somewhere it’s just not exercise. Well it is, but not enough.  So as I start looking ahead to September and focusing on being capable of doing long days again I just have to run. Running reminds me not to dis myself too much when I look in the mirror.  Yeah, I don’t weight 145 lbs but I can run… and when I run I almost feel weightless.
