The Black Knight

“Peter Bray was 43 days into his attempt to row from Newfoundland to the Isles of Scilly when he was caught in 20ft (6m) swells and 46mph (74kph) winds.” – BBC
Peter Bray called for a rescue in the face of an oncoming hurricane shortly after 1200 BST. What else can you do!? Thanks Pete for setting a good example by demonstrating when to say when! Glad you’re OK…. What really sucks is having to leave the Black Knight at sea without even a flesh wound.

I wonder if it is the type of thing that they can leave a tracker on it and possibility pick it up later?

They couldn’t have put that beautiful sea kayak strapped to the deck? Guess he was plucked by a helicopter? I live here in Florida and Bill is already putting out some real swell here. Not sure there will be much left of her without at least a cockpit cover on. (but now I’m being morbid)
Remember that story a couple years back of an old NDK kayak found alive and well after being abandon at sea for over a year. I remember that they said it was pretty much perfect other than the food in the day hatch had gone off!
