This is Yalla.  She’s not a bright girl but she’s vigilant in her vain attempts to understand.  I read a study recently showing how certain breeds of dog can understand over 200 word and can process information in a similar way to a two and a half year old child.  Older breeds are apparently smarter than newer ones.  Border Collies, Poodles & German Shepherds rank the highest.. Yalla on the on other hand… Well, we love Yalla…  Next….

We just bought a bloody giant television.  It’s accidental opulence in a way.  I may have mentioned this in the past, but our son has a unique problem with his sight that cannot be corrected with corrective lenses.  As he grows up there will be some tough moments I’m sure.  For right now he can sit at the front of his classroom and at home had been sitting with his nose practically touching the TV screen.  Well, after spending some time with him moving forward and back in the aisles of various stores we doled out the cash for a 46″ TV.  For the first time ever he can now sit on the couch.  Mary and I on the other hand now suffer regular motion sickness…

I was out this morning taking pictures of the Clematis vine I planted on the wooden fence around our garbage bins.  Fascinating right?  I came away thinking that while we love pictures of flowers with bumble bees and butterflies hovering around them, we rarely see pictures of flowers covered in ants.
