Oh man.. While we here in the great white north try to squeeze in a few more day paddles before the snow flies and the water freezes, some shops are already contemplating next year’s orders and manufacturers are crossing the ‘t’s on their new kayaks and kit! It’s just the way of things. How many days until Christmas?
I’m leaping forward here at Quix as well. I’ve just begun sending out inquiries to lots of kayak companies about their hot new kayaks for 2010. (Amazingly some folks got back to me in just a couple hours!!) I’ll be showing off the new boats over the winter while most of us are stuck indoors roasting chestnuts, playing Madden NFL 10 and dreaming of Canoecopia. (Our Australian friends on the other hand will be out surfing!!!… Grrrrr!!!) BTW, If you are producing a funky new kayak you’d like to show off, just tell me all about it at derrick@kayakquixotica.com, and send along a really nice picture or two. I’ll do my best to pass it on.. But be warned… I know a few harsh critics!
… On a side note, did you see our crazy friend Adriene Levknect on the Werner Blog.. I’d say “You go girl!” but… she already does..

If you are itching to get some paddles in this winter, come to San Diego! We can kayak pretty much year-round here.
wow, I was just typing “San Diego” right this second in an email to a paddler there in CA.. Small world!
