I’m very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I’m teeming with a lot o’ news – With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.

My black & purple Rockpool Alaw Bach is sitting quietly in the shed behind an old wooden door blocked by a snow drift about as high as the recent waves have been in Hawaii. Meanwhile the clock is ticking away. Normally this time of year I feel at a bit of a loose end. I’d find myself simply digging to find something fresh to write about. Not this year though. No, this year I’m just trying to get caught up and I just don’t think it’s going to happen.

My table is project laden. Heaped to the rafters with task upon task. All good mind you. All tasty and mostly intellectually stimulating to one degree or another. As it always the case in my business, new clients always take me down learning paths I’d have never traveled otherwise. I can’t help but be thankful for all the diverse learning opportunities I’ve had. Even the bits I’m not all that into; like collectible model race cars, or county fiddle instructional manuals.. or the right chemicals to keep an udder clean! So much to learn, so little time!

The picture I chose today is from a well known attraction in our area, Tommy Bartlett’s Ski, Sky & Stage Show. I was asked to photograph the show for a client a couple years back which led to hours of watching and shooting the performers. Occasionally I’d sneak a peak to the far shore of Lake Delton and ponder the idea of launching my kayak. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool to just float there out among the racing speed boats, skiers, and flying flaming hoop jumpers!?”  There had to be some great shots from kayak level.. I never did get to shoot the performances from the level of my human powered water craft.. but man, it would have been a riot.

By the way, if you’re really wondering how to keep from getting struck at sea in a thunderstorm. Your either daft as a brush or too late.. and no, wearing your rubbers probably won’t help.

Derrick–that lake, as you know, is a favorite of mine from spending much time there at The Wilderness on The lake. Last time, it was Wilderness on the Mud (but they discounted our rooms–I almost lost my then 12 year old son when we crossed the three feet of mud to try and get to that broken house across the way). I would love to see photos of the lake from kayak level–you and your son might paddle it sometime. Can launch at the ramp for the Wilderness boat (the one that takes guests too and from the main lodge)…it’s seldom there. Tommy Bartlett really took it on the chin the year of the mud, but I am glasd it’s back to being the Greatest Show on H2O. It is a Dells mainstay, for sure. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Xmas. Aloha.
