Boned!
I don’t want to be crippled cracked
Shoulders, wrists, knees and back
Ground to dust and ash
Crawling on all fours

I’m boned! Yesterday I did my second trail run of the new year… and crashed! Every spring I find myself waiting for the ice to clear off the trails and for the boot suckers to disappear back into the bowls of the earth, then it’s time to run! I admit it, I’m one of those people who get’s a big rush out of running. A nice exhausting run leaves me almost giddy in fact. Heck, even after my big crash yesterday I managed to get up and walk off the pain in my ankle for a couple minutes and then run the last mile or so regardless.
It wasn’t until last evening when I realized I couldn’t find a way to walk out of my office to the living room that I realized how good the ankle sprain actually was. It wasn’t until I tried to take some of the weight with my right hand that I realized I’d done some damage to my right wrist as well. In fact, this morning I’m struggling to type as certain hand movements will send a quick shooting pain into the pad of my right hand.
Oh well, sprains have to heal. I won’t be running for a few days. What has me concerned however is my Wilderness First Aid class this weekend. I wonder if it can be done while hopping about?
