Chased by cloud

Fair weather paddlers are chased by clouds
back to the shelter of Subarus and coffee shops
leaving
the world silent
apart from the sound
of dipping paddles and distant thunder.

Excuse me, but I use my Subaru to get to the gnarly shores :)

I love it: Jeep vs Subaru.
I thought it was Chevy vs Ford… :-)
Derrick you are so right; when the weather is not picture perfect you can have the place to yourself.
My experience is also that if the wind blows more than 10 knots I can be pretty sure that most motorboats are off the water: http://mei-australia.blogspot.com/2010/04/windy-weekend-on-bay.html

I can conclude two things –
    1. You want a Subaru
    2. You never had 40kt+ gusts help you reach the shore quicker with lightning with zero delay thunder providing extra motivation

LOL! I have a Jeep actually, Not enough room in a Subaru but it starts with an “S” therefore goes with “Shops” better than the word “Cars” and is a familiar vehicle to paddlers. :) Actually I’ve surfed in zero-delay lightning and clung for my life to a rock in 65mph winds.. The point is, you never want to read into things too deeply. :)
