A bit of wet

I was hungry and I’m hungry still
And now it’s pouring rain
I look o.k. but I’ve been feeling ill
And now it’s pouring rain

Yesterday we had flash flood warnings in our area, but that didn’t stop us from getting out for a bit of a paddle!  Heavy rains and flooding are getting to be typical for early June in our part of Wisconsin.  It’s defiantly a climate change, but I’d be hard pressed to tell you why.  Whatever the reason it’s been flooding pretty regularly since the ’90s in our area.  The local lake has been so flooded that the state DNR finally incorporated a permanent drain!  It just so happened that a temporary drain had been put in to siphon pollutants from the bottom of the lake at about the same time the local climate began to change.  When the clean up was done, it was decided to make the drain permanent.  That’s what you do when it’s the No. 1. outdoor recreational destination in the state.  Can’t let the flooding keep the tourists away!

So.. after gearing up, finishing off my latte and checking the weather we got out, on, and in the water..  I’ve posted a slideshow here, and written a bit more about what we saw over on the SK Journal for the local crowd. :)   One thing I have to say, which I’ve said before.. I love my Reed Chill Cheater gear.  It just could not have rained any harder and I stayed pretty dry with my Reed cag and reed skirt.  Love ‘em!
