fixin’ the ark

I said, “Just tell me something before it’s too late and we’re gone
I mean just how safe is this boat we’ll be on?” – Sting

Today my workload is a bit heavy, not least of which is that I need to commit to a kayak to take to the Door County Sea Kayak Symposium coming up in about a week.  As usual, the level heads of friends, well-wishers, readers & psychologists have convinced me that doing some repairs on my old NDK kayaks is probably a better choice (and more valuable) than selling them off for something new, and maybe not so tough.

Of course here in the midwest, boat repair supplies don’t come easily or cheap.  I get almost giddy when the UPS delivery guy shows up with that cardboard box displaying the Jamestown Distributors logo!  Sometimes you can find the things you need cheaply on Ebay of course, but if I can’t find a box of gelcoat that recently dropped off the back of a lorry, I’m always thrilled with the service at JD.. Thanks guys for the box of gel-coat hardener & black pigment!  Now I’ve got work to do!!!!!

Oh.. BTW Did you notice that the Sea Kayaking UK logo looks an awful lot like the new(ish) Aliens Vs Predator Logo?  I’ll see if I can get a screen grab in the next couple days.. it’s .. well, interesting. :)
