New Shoes!

I always take it as a compliment when a company seeks me out to give a review of their products. Recently Columbia Sportswear asked me to take a look at their new Drainmakers. These funky shoes arrived over the weekend. (Along with a reminder to tell all of you that they sent them to me at no charge..) The selling point with the Drainmakers is that they are watershoes that they tell me feel just like a running shoe. I said I’d be happy to give the Drainmakers trial run, fill out a survey, and do a review for you all right here. Columbia Drainmakers retail around $80. Of course I always ask if things come in black.. (Didn’t expect the bowling shoe vibe! LOL!) I’m going to put a couple of weeks wear on ‘em and then I’ll let you know what I think.  For background, let’s kick things off with Columbia’s YouTube presentation…

Dude, it’s not you…way too much color.

Not sure what you guys are griping about – Columbia uses the following words to describe the shoe – “This fully drainable water shoe lets you catch the fish and release the stream”.
I am quite sure that this shoe will let one accomplish both of those tasks.
“Releasing the stream” is something that gets me really curious, must be some sort of corporate-speak :)

For the fashion conscious – it is available in other colors as well, probably scientifically chosen to make fish catching and releasing the stream to be more successful.

Oh, I didn’t realize Derrick was a famous fisherman as well ;)

Funny! I don’t eat fish and haven’t owned a fishing pole since I was a kid.. Fish are friends not food! :)

BTW.. I’m not all that keen on the shoestrings either…
