Checking In From The Dry Hotel

I woke up this morning to a blood-red dawn, dark around the edges with flashes of white. Before the sun could light up the day, heavy storms squashed the light.   As I walked the dunes I came across a deer standing on one of the high mounds silhouetted against the glow. An amazing sight! River, show me how to float / I feel like I’m sinking down
Thought that I could get along / But here in this water
My feet won’t touch the ground / I need something to turn myself around

Do You Like Fish?

Ooh you’re a holiday , ev’ry day , such a holiday / Now it’s my turn to say , and I say you’re a holiday
It’s something I thinks worthwhile / If the puppet makes you smile
If now then you’re throwing stones / Throwing stones , throwing stones

I know how addicts are!  Heck, last night it was nearly 8pm when I suddenly had a craving to hit the water.  We’re now in the middle of a tropical style heat wave and by the time the sun began to fall on the horizon I was going mentally and physically numb from the heat.  In a mad rush, we loaded a kayak & beach gear into the jeep and 10 minutes later we were at the local lake playing in the water just as the sun began to fall behind the bluffs.
