You've been paddling for a couple of years now and you've spent the last 3 months drooling over your private stash of kayak porn. Now? Oh, you are SO itching to get back out on the water! (Well, the second the ice melts anyway.) Now, you've been around this whole paddling gig just long enough know all about hypothermia and the risks involved in cold water paddling. Having ice still floating around out there has that little voice in the back of your head asking, "Do I NEED a dry suit?"

Often the biggest challenge to fitness and exercise is boredom and the feeling that we are depriving ourselves of the basic enjoyment of life. Paddling offers a way to exercise in an ever changing, non-repetitive environment which ultimately helps us to overcome exercise boredom. In fact you paddle for the fun of it. Fitness.. is just an accidental by-product.

After being online 5 years and traveling every wandering road in those years it seems a good time come back full circle and meet up with all the folks just coming into the sport here in 2010. It's also a good reminder for me as a paddler and a coach as to why I got into this gig in the first place. So for the old sea dogs, I invite you to jump in and give your thoughts and advice as I travel down the road from considering paddle sports for the first time to insanely jumping into whitewater or a tidal race.
