Do I really have to think about gear? September is a long way off at the moment but that does not mean I don’t have to start taking a bit of inventory. For the most part over the years you collect all the gear you need for a few weeks on the water. Still, over time things break, fall apart or get left in far off lands and need to be replaced. No one wants to paddle in the shadow of the “Paps” without proper gear.

You know, I miss the days when we would have marveled at the idea of a big hairy ape man running through the woods of Washington State or an awesome Plesiosaurs roaming the dark cold barren waters of Loch Ness. These days we’re too smart and certainly too grumpy to have anything to do with such poppycock.  Of course the down side is people spend way too much time these days yelling at kids to stay off their lawns.  Oh well. . .
