Kayaking? Whatever…
OK, Kayaking.. Yeah, Whatever, Whatever… Time for Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows… I’m really liking the strange and interesting work from Andrew over at ”Songs To Wear Pants To” who will write a quick tune based on anything you can come up with. Pretty impressive, and often pretty funny as well! For a more serious introduction check out his band Your Heart… Freaking Canadians anyway!
Black Swan
I’m a total Radiohead freak. As some say, there are those that like Neil Diamond.. (or in this case Thom York)… So as you could expect I was watching the new video for Lotus Flower within an hour of it being posted on YouTube. In the last 24 hours like a thousand mashups have been posted as well. Personally I like ” Thom Yorke auditions for a part in Black Swan” the best. (See Above). And what’s that got to do with kayaking? Nothing at all.

Dylan Break
Not Dark Yet
Shadows are falling and I’ve been here all day
It’s too hot to sleep, time is running away
Feel like my soul has turned into steel
I’ve still got the scars that the sun didn’t heal
There’s not even room enough to be anywhere
It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there
Well, my sense of humanity has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing there’s been some kind of pain
She wrote me a letter and she wrote it so kind
She put down in writing what was in her mind
I just don’t see why I should even care
It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there
Well, I’ve been to London and I’ve been to gay Paree
I’ve followed the river and I got to the sea
I’ve been down on the bottom of a world full of lies
I ain’t looking for nothing in anyone’s eyes
Sometimes my burden seems more than I can bear
It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there
I was born here and I’ll die here against my will
I know it looks like I’m moving, but I’m standing still
Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb
I can’t even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don’t even hear a murmur of a prayer
It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there

across the tracks

Take a little walk to the edge of town
Go across the tracks Where the viaduct looms
like a bird of doom – Nick Cave

The folks on the northwest coast always warn you that when the sky is dark and gray for days you simply have to get out and stay active. So yesterday under the pressure d, claustrophobic squeeze of heavy clouds I drug everyone along to explore another section of the 400 Trail. Of course the problem with me and clouds is my perspective get’s a big ah, filtered…
Yalla, Yalla
Yalla? Hurry up, get moving, get going. . . Yalla is also sometimes used for an expression of an upbeat or good mood. In Israel I head both. “Yalla, Yalla!” as Hurry up, or “Yalla Bye” on the phone. Of course being a fan of Natasha Atlas I’d heard, “Yalla, Yalla” shaking my car doors for years. . . Yeah, and sometimes it did get some odd looks from passers by. . .

Too many games that I can’t play
Too many windmills in my way
– jennings/kerr
If you do this whole blogger, social media thing long enough you begin to feel like your simply talking to friends and acquaintances. You begin to see the same names and faces all the time in comments or on Twitter or whatever and you grow accustom to your circle. But that’s an illusion. The fact is you’ll never know who stops by. So when I got a nice email from the vice president of Barbara Orbison Productions I was really surprised.
