Yeah, Whatever, But It’s Hadas!

Uh, oh, many, many, many nights go by, / I sit alone at home and I cry over you.
What can I do. / Can’t help myself, ’cause baby, it’s you.

So Reed has a new website!!  Ok, yeah, whatever, but that’s Hadas Feldman on their header!!  See, I know what’s really important!  The picture dates all the way back to 2003, when Hadas, Justine Curgenven  & Alexey Sitnokov paddled their way up the Kamchatka coastline.  The 600 kilometer journey was featured in the first CackleTV, ‘This is the Sea’ DVD.   Ok.. to be honest I’m a total fan of all things Reed and it’s soooo about time they had a new website.  Very cool. Still, seeing Hadas on the top made my day.. almost made me want to buy a Reed Storm Cag… but then I realized.. I’ve already got one!

Where would you most like to paddle Hadas?

When all words fail she speaks
Her mix tape’s a masterpiece
Walks through the garden
so the roses can see
Oh I…have you got nothing to say

Today’s title was a question first raised by British Sea Kayaker extraordinaire, Jeff Allen. When I first read it over on the Sea Kayaking Cornwall website I supposed the sentence was deserving of a comma, something like, “Where would you most like to paddle, Hadas?” One way or the other, it’s always about the punctuation.  You can read more about how that question (which ever way it went) lead to a 6500 kilometer paddling adventure here.  That of course brings me to this…

Hadas Feldman of  Israel will be a featured speaker at the Ladies of the Lake Sea Kayaking Symposium held Aug 12-15th in Marquette, MI.  Hadas has an amazing paddling resume. Along with the the 2004 circumnavigation of the 4 main islands of Japan with Jeff Allen, she & Jeff joined Nigel Dennis and Pete Bray Continue reading

Paddling from the Beginning – Fitness

Paddler on Lake Michigan at the Door County Sea Kayak Symposium. Door County, Wisconsin.

In the last “Paddling From The Beginning” post I gave you just some of the reasons we paddle.  Today I want to talk just a bit about paddling for fitness.. for us average non-super athletic types.

I’ll never forget reading an interview with Israeli expedition paddler Hadas Feldman where she said something to the effect that she had to go on a major expedition every so often to simply avoid getting fat.  Obviously she wasn’t serious, but that’s athleticism I understand!  Certainly there are paddlers who go for the most efficient strokes, amazing speeds and all that. Bless their little souls! But most of us define fitness by simply staying active, alive and not getting too fat! Continue reading

multidisiplinary coaching with hadas

Hadas Feldman, Israel

The thing about coaching is that great coaches have to be multi-disciplined. (Just ask the BCU) Now Hadas takes it to a whole new level by  offering straight up advice for those who have loved and lost.   I wonder if she will start a column?   Anyway head on over to Steve’s blog to hear Hadas say, “The best way to get over a man is. . . .”

Apparently They Were Traveling Abroad. . .

. . I thought we were safe home in England. . . .(roger waters)

Today I get to send you off to the UK. Over the last month or so I have been working with Justine Curgenven on a redesign of her website “CackleTV.com”. As many of you know Justine is a filmmaker, explorer, and of course is the creator of the popular video “This Is The Sea”. On her website you can see pictures from her circumnavigation of Tasmania with Trys Morris & Gemma Rawlings. There are also plenty of shots from her Kamchatka trip with Hadas Feldman. So without further rambling from me just head right out to www.cackletv.com. Enjoy!
